I grew up in Vredenburg on the West Coast of South Africa. I studied at the University of Stellenbosch, where I obtained a BSc Sport degree in 2006, followed by a Biokinetics (BSc Hons) degree in 2007. In June 2008, I decided to change my career path to accounting and tax, studying at the University of South Africa while completing my articles in Stellenbosch, and earned my BCompt degree in 2011.

I obtained my SAIPA (South African Institute of Professional Accountants) qualification in March 2013 and have been a member since.
